The party  in  the garden  next  door was  in  full swing, Kiara  juggled  the trifle  in  her arms  trying  to free  the  latch on  her  new neighbours  gate,  she’d spent  all  day arguing  with  herself about  coming  round, after  all  he  hadn’t invited  her  but Mrs  Jameson  had been  a  good neighbour  until  she’d been  moved  to a  nursing  home six  months  ago and  it  would be  nice  to have  the  occasional smile  or  wave from  someone,  the other  three  neighbours  opposite always  snub  her, she’d  heard  them all  whisper  about her,  that  she was  too  quiet, a  loner,  that she  was  weird, well  yes  she was!  But  that was  no  excuse to  be  rude!

Oh Kiara  she  thought don’t  start  lying to  yourself,  the only  reason  your going  round  to introduce  yourself  is because   that  first sight  of  him two  days  ago left  you  breathless and  you  haven’t stopped  thinking  about him  since.
