What inspired you to become an author

 

I became friends with a well known Scottish writer who read my first effort: The Exploiters

He commented: "You are one hell of a story teller".  Having lead the life I have I wanted to tell my story and in some way influence readers

What is your favourite novel/author, and why

 

Key above the door, by John Buchan

Top tip for new authors

 

I was once told: "Write a brief synopsis and details of all your characters, on separate sheets of paper.  Bring each of them into your story in the early chapters and then all together in the middle of you manuscript."

I found this helpful and easy to follow as I knew all of my characters and the situations that occurred in my stories were all true

Unusual fact about yourself

 

Read "My Three Part Life" - this tells it all.

My philosophy is simple, I have never learned to give up.  14 years back I had a very bad stomach cancer.  I was given 6 months to a year to live.  I came out of hospital 5 days after the operation and was back to work two days later.

That is me Bill Graham: I had too much to live for and Jean and Katrina needed me

I am 76 years old, married to my beautiful wife and saviour Jean.  I have a wonderful, gorgeous daughter Katrina and our wee Yorkie dog Pepe - he is the boss of the house!
